Cactus Club Cafe Description:
Canada's only Iron Chef, Rob Feenie, stepped into the role of "Food Concept Architect" at the restaurant-bar chain Cactus Club and ever since has wowed crowds with his signature high-end dishes served at reasonable prices. (They once graced the menus of Lumière and Feenie's at double the price.) Saké-maple marinated sablefish; mac 'n' cheese with lobster; butternut squash ravioli with amaretti, pine nuts and crispy sage; a short rib sandwich with caramelized onions and Emmental cheese on toasted sourdough; and rocket salad with panko-and-Parmesan-breaded chicken tossed in lemon-caper sauce top the list of earthly delights. Crowds go for the hand-squeezed martinis and signature locally brewed beers. The winning formula at Cactus Club is duplicated at several locations throughout the Lower Mainland, from West Vancouver to Richmond, making one within access of most Olympic venues.
