With a waiting list for reservations most nights at his namesake temple of haute Indian cuisine, Vij's, you can slip into Rangoli, next door, for lunch, tea, an early dinner, or upscale takeaway until 10 p.m. Large refrigerators and freezers beckon with vacuum-packed silvery pouches of the chef's take-away curries, saags, vegetarian entrées and dumplings. Cumin rice, chutney, chapattis and naan await your cravings along with freshly roasted and ground Indian spices. There's even a special dessert to-go: chocolate sparkle cookies flavored with Vij's own spice blend.
