Cuisine:
Hon's Wun-Tun House Ltd. Description:
The vast menu at Hon's includes the usual Chinese restaurant suspects as well as first-rate vegetarian dim sum selections. Dishes are prepared in traditional gleaming, restaurant-sized woks in two open kitchens; one is reserved solely for vegetarian preparations. For Chinese cuisine aficionados, won ton is just one of the more than 90 varieties of soup available, and there's a seemingly endless list of noodle specialties. The trademark pot stickers, fried or steamed, with a ginger-spiked dipping sauce, are justly well-known, as are the addictive candied walnuts available to nibble on your way out.

When I first walked into this Chinese restaurant, I said to myself "wow, this is huge". And then the next thing I said is "wow, so many chefs!". They have chefs just for cooking rice, chefs for vegetables, chefs for dim sum, chefs for poultry, and a lot more. Lots of servers working there as well! I've tried their Peking duck once and now I know why some people only order ducks for their meals. The ducks, as usual, is greasy, but without green onion for every bite, you don't actually feel the grease. Aside from the duck, you should also try their vegetarian dishes. I am not a big time meat eater, but their vegetarian dishes actually are very refreshing and tasy. Unlike other same level of Chinese restaurants, they actually are very organized in taking orders, bringing out food, and billing you. By the way, they also sell t-shirts that says "Hon's Wonton House" if you are interested, which I find kind of bizzare. A little bit history about this restaurant. The first store is in Chinatown and the downtown location is a later addition. If I remember it correctly, they also have one in Richmond.

My husband likes everything at Hon's... It make him think of his homeland... I cannot cook the way he wants in a nostalgic view, but Hon's gives him his hometown cravings. I personally find that everything taste like pork so I am a little passive on this place.
