A few of us went to Granville Island for dinner the one night at Sandbar. It was one of the best seafood restaurants I've been to yet. After we entered the restaurant, the waiter kindly told us about the special for the night. We had a friend who cannot eat gluten, and the waiter was happy to give us the options of what dishes were gluten free! So the food came and it was YUM! Definitely worth a re-visit!

I've had couple chances to dine here. The seafood dishes are top notch. It's so fresh! The service is great too. The servers are very attentitive to your needs. A must visit for any Vancouverer.

I took my wife to the Sandbar for her birthday and had an amazing time. The hostesses were extremely welcoming and make you feel at home right off the bat. We decided to wait for a table on the roof-top terrace, which at most places an hour's wait might be a pain, but with the Sandbar's ambient and relaxing lounge area, it went by quickly. The food was exceptional for both of us with excellent service to boot. The prices can get a little steep, but in my opinion, the little extra cash disbursement is well worth it.
You can't go wrong at the Sandbar for any occasion!

You like fish? You’ll love the Sandbar. It’s a big roudy and fun place to visit. Our birthday party lucked out and got the table facing the night city lights, so the view was spectacular. Our server was excellent. Free bread + butter appeared out of no where, our glasses (water and wine) were refilled without asking.
The food was way above average. I had the black cod, which you MUST try. Buttery meat, with a nice miso/soy glaze. Really good quality, and by far the best I’ve ever had; I was never really a big fish fan until I had this particular dish - taht's how good it way.
To start I had the warm beet salad with a champagne vinaigrette with blue cheese and walnuts, again, a great choice.
By bill included 2 drinks and 2 food items and came to just above $50 (plus $10 tip since the service was excellent).
If you want great seafood at a casual easy going and fun place, this would be the one. While this is not the cheapest of places, the quality, the view, and the service make up for the cost.
