Only went for late night drinks and hanging out so I cannot comment on the food, but I had a great time. The drinks are great (especially their cocktails and martinis) and the people are great looking, especially the WOMEN! Definitely a top 10 Vancouver hangout.

I took my staff to Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar, and must say that it has really become the happening place in Vancouver's night scene (at least on the night we were there).
There were a lot of good looking people there, both in the restaurant section and the bar in back. To say it was a pickup scene is sort of an understatement.
As for the staff, all was great (other than we had to wait for our 22 person table for about 1 hour - which seems to be par for the course these days- what are reservations for anyways?).
Now the bad part.... the food is not really that good. The concept is great. The popular thing here are the satays, which come in many varieties. People order plates of these, and because of our large group, I got to sample them all, along with my main course (and my wife's). Nice idea, but the satay's were not great, and the fish as my main was so heavily drenched in a thick, rich sauce, that was overdosed with sodium, that I was thirsting for water the entire night and the next day.
I say go here on a date (if you are in your 20s or 30s), or go in your hunting clothes if you are looking for a date... but keep the business and romantic dining out of here. And foret it if your night is about food....

Glowbal occupies a top spot in the trendy Yaletown dining scene, so if you're looking for an evening of good food served in a bright, buzzy atmosphere, this is a great place to try. The dining room, divvied up into a long elevated bar, a rank of semi-secluded dining tables, a file of glowing dining cubes, and an open kitchen, maximizes the drama all around. Have one of their famous martinis as you peruse the menu, and sample as an appetizer some of the delicious satays. Glowbal started the Vancouver craze for these succulent skewers of grilled meat or fish served with a dipping sauce. The main menu is delicious proof that fusion -- the mixing of tastes and flavors from around the world -- is alive and well. Maybe start with some tempura artichokes with fresh crabmeat, or Creole marinated fried soft shell crabs. Then, if you're in the mood for seafood, go with whatever is fresh: It may be wild salmon served with Dungeness crab gnocchi, or crusted sea bass with braised tomatoes and red pepper gratin. Service is fun and friendly, the wine list exemplary. There is a guaranteed 45-minute lunch from Monday to Friday featuring a daily special. After hours of dining, the truly in-crowd heads to Afterglow, the small lounge behind the dining room.
