Review :
I had only heard one review about Cassis Bistro on another website but it looked interesting so we took a chance.
My date and I tried the following dishes: Coq Au Vin, Bouillabaisse, Daube De Boeuf, Lemon Tart and Creme Brulee for dessert. We all enjoyed the Coq Au Vin, and the Boeuf was superb, and the desserts were completely heaven (French restaurant better get that right, eh?) The only disappointment was the soup, which was rather plain for a seafood based recipe.
Overall, a VERY pleasant experience.

Review :
Some friends of ours took us to Cassis, which is just on the boarder of where the whole E. Hastings problem starts so it’s in a bit of a strange area and well hidden. The dining room is pretty small and quaint, which I like. We were seated quickly and we had our waiter offering us drinks soon after. It started off pretty good, but when we received our mains, I was put off. I ordered the same dish as 2 other people at the table, the Daube de Boeuf and mine was remarkably a smaller portion than the rest of the orders. I did make a comment to the waiter who told me that they are all the same portions and I decided based on that response, no matter how much I argued, I would get nowhere slowly. So after finishing my main and still being quite hungry, my comrades were nice enough to save me the bread!! The service during the meal was also exceptionally slow and the prices a little too high in my opinion. The food was pretty good, although there’s not very much of it! So I’ll leave it at that. I won’t be going back there though!
