Food is hot, delicious and comes in large portions, but sometimes have to wait a long time, even after already waiting to get a table.
What makes the service good is the security guard who comes by with coffee refills, otherwise the service is terrible. On occasion you have to flag down the waitresses for something simple as cutlery, and there have been times where I have waited 40 mins to get a waitresses attention.
The atmosphere is of a mixed crowd, young and old, punks and conservatives. I love the diversity Bons offers, and the cozy seats (just the booth ones), I dread being seated at a table with chairs. That area is always so cramped - but in a way it is endearing because you can be friendly with your neighboring table which is really nice. It is so easy to meet new people at Bons, and is quite a wonderful way to do so - and get together with friends.
I will always love Bons because each element from waiting to get a table, waiting for food - being rewarded with a delicious and cheap meal and seeing the familiar faces of the owner and security guard, and the elderly waitress (shes grumpy, and funny as hell!!! love her hahaha)
Long live Bons!

Driving by a sign that says VANCOUVER'S BEST BREAKFASTS SERVED HERE I just had to try it. My mistake. Nothing was what I ordered OR what the server said it would be. When I commented her response was "What do you want for $2.99?". Well, I was hoping for something CLOSE to what their signs promised... but I was VERY disappointed.

The people eating at Bon's are pretty retro. Bon's is a self service place, however the food is great and for a good price. Can't really complain about the service when the price is so cheap.

Been hitting up Bons ever since a trendy group of friends introduced me. Now i cant wait to break the Bons Cherry for all my friends. Its an experience all in its self, and it always leaves you feeling full.

I agree completely with the other reviewer that Bon's has the cheapest and one of the best breakfasts in town. For as little as $2.99 you get a decent sized breakfast with your choice of bacon, sausage, Ukranian sausage or ham with two eggs, toast or breakfast muffin and potatoes. The weekend's usually bring out the crowds to Bon's so you may have to wait, but week day mornings are quieter.

We have been eating at Bon's since it was Ronnies. The Big Ukrainian Breakfast comes with Ukranian sausage and perogies, plus 2 eggs and w/w toast. It's one of the best values for the money. The regular breakfasts are also very good value.
For dinner, bring on the fish and chips and one of the various beers that Bon's stocks.
The veal cutlets dinner is a good hearty meal as is most of Bon'e menu.
