Go Fish! Description:
Arrive early to join the queue to enjoy Gord Martin's (think Bin 941 and Bin 942) inventions using the daily catch purchased from the nearby fishing boats on False Creek's Fishermen's Wharf. Just across the water from Granville Island. Martin's kitchen at this no-frills seafood shack traffics in some of Vancouver's freshest, tastiest fish 'n' chips plates, salmon tacos, po' boys and chowders. Eat in at the heavy wooden tables waterside or take-out and be equally satisfied.

On a recent trip to Vancouver we made a point of eating at Go Fish as we had heard good things about it. We only knew that it was in the Granville Island area so it took us a while to actually find it. We ordered the halibut fish and chips and then had about a 20 minute wait. My sweetie is from the UK and really knows his fish and chips. This was easily the best we've ever had. Every chip was crunchy and golden. The fish was fresh and the portion was generous. Even the tartar sauce was exceptional. There is a lack of seating, although it was a hot sunny day when we were there so we were able to sit along the wharf. Of all the wonderful places we ate in Vancouver, this is the one place I would go back to in a heartbeat.

I went to a party the other night, and because it was only a drinks party, I got hungry when I left. So I decided to pop over to Go Fish and grab some takeout.
When I got there, there was a huge line-up. I was trying to decide whether to bail and go somewhere else, or just wait and see how this place is.
The order taker was friendly and efficient, and I was glad they accepted credit cards as I had no cash on me.
I saw people ordering the fish and chips, and when they were served, it looked like the fish and chips were served in a giant bamboo steamer or something.
I ordered grilled salmon fish tacones and they were fresh and tasty, for only $9.00
Great place for some fish and chips!

OK, so Go Fish is a little too "yuppie" for my liking - the food is good enough to bring me back. Everything is good, but the fish and chips are easily the best tasting and priced. Not too much to say about it, good seafood, good scenery, good location.
