The families behind Mi Ranchito come from the Mexican state of Jalisco, and they've been running restaurants in the U.S. for many years now. The extensive, colorful menu encourages diners to go beyond the expected combination platters to explore goodies like Camaron Yucatan, reminiscent of fajitas thanks to the peppers and other veggies grilled alongside the shrimp, or one of the half-dozen variations on rib-eye steak. Honors go to the mushroom quesadillas, a nice surprise for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. The Mexican beer and margarita selections are satisfyingly wide; order them instead of the bland wines or American soft drinks.
