Jamillah Garden Description:
A well-scrubbed eatery belonging to the Ma family of Taiwan, this restaurant specializes in the Islamic cuisine of China. Any meal's centerpiece is the puffy, sesame-studded flatbread similar to Indian naan or Middle Eastern pita in that you can stuff all kinds of meat and other savory goodies inside. The 200-item menu includes over a dozen kinds of lamb (we recommend the delicious lamb stew), terrific steamed dumplings, fish with soybean hot sauce and the seasonally available kan shim tsai, a hollow, reedy green. Tripe, tendon and other odd bits figure into the menu, but squeamish diners (or vegetarians) will be pleased to find just as many seafood and vegetable dishes.
