Ginza Sushi & Izakaya Description:
Ginza is a little tricky to find, but your effort pays off. Boasting some of Tucson's finest sushi and a full roster of izakaya, or Japanese tapas, this is a restaurant that you don't want to forgo. Dishes to share include soft shell crab, several kinds of tempura and chicken karaage---Japanese fried chicken. For the more adventurous diners, there's monkfish liver (ankimo) or the deeply savory ika shiokara, or salted squid. The sushi includes many common suspects, but the house Vegas Roll, which is a tempura-fried roll filled with salmon, avocado and imitation crab, is topped with a sweet and savory eel sauce. We also recommend the Fujiyama roll, where crab, cucumber and avocado are rolled together then topped with seafood dynamite, a creamy mayonnaise based sauce. Sushi can be ordered à la carte or in a boat. Wash it all down with a couple of ice cold Japanese beers.
