Casa Vicente Description:
A quiet restaurant serving up Spanish food in a casual atmosphere. Features tradational Tapas, Paella, and other Spanish Entrees.
Wednesday is Tango night, and Friday and Saturday have live Flamenco.
While Tucson is known for its array of good Mexican restaurants, Casa Vicente offers a totally different take on Latin cuisine. Owners Vicente and Marita Sanchez have transported a taste of Vicente's native Spain to The Old Pueblo. Every meal starts with irresistible fried potatoes, wonderful tater bites fried and served with a house aïoli and pepper sauce. The list of tapas is long and varied, but our favorites include the champion de jamón---mushrooms, ham dressed in garlic and wine sauce---or the chorizo palacios, which is Spanish sausage with olives. At lunch, served on Thursdays and Fridays, we always order the calamares rebozados sandwich, popular on the Plaza Mayor in Madrid. If you want the paella, it's best to put your order in a couple of days ahead and bring plenty of friends. Flamenco dancing and music are often part of your evening, as is the wonderful hospitality of Vicente and Marita.
