As the name implies, Athens offers a full menu of fine Greek food served in a convivial atmosphere. Yes, you'll find tiri saganaki (flaming cheese complete with the required shouts of "opa!"), pastitsio and spanakopita, but the menu holds more luscious surprises. The roasted red peppers, for example, are filled with soft creamy cheese, lightly breaded, sautéed in olive oil and drizzled with a balsamic reduction. Many of the appetizers, such as the dolomathes or the kalamarkia, are also available as entrées. Greek wines dominate the list. At lunch you can choose from among the regular menu items or an assortment of savory sandwiches and salads.
