Café TLJ Description:
Café TLJ is the first American venture from CJ, the largest food company in Korea. The stylish restaurant with bamboo and glass walls offers unusual baked goods, simple sandwiches on house-made breads and fusion dishes that would cost twice the price at more upscale restaurants. Bakery highlights include a sugar-rolled red-bean doughnut, and flaky sweet potato pie. Bargain specialties---such as saké-marinated ahi with ginger and wasabi foam atop red beet risotto and Chinese long beans; and grilled chicken breast with kabocha squash mashed potatoes and saké-glazed Japanese eggplant---are more intriguing, if somewhat bland. To drink, there's a large selection of flavored teas and a trio of fruit smoothies. Despite the wall-mounted menu, Café TLJ provides full table service.
