Cisco's Mexican Restaurant Of Thousand Oaks Description:
Two outdoor patios and a tropical setting lend an easygoing vibe to lunch or dinner at this Mexican stop. The bar is stocked with El Jimador tequila, which they use in the margaritas. In place of lard, the cooks use canola oil. You wouldn't think this could result in tasty refried beans, but it does. The salads, however, are a bit tired. On top of that, the salad dressings are far too sharp with vinegar. Stick to the Mexican classics---enchiladas, burritos, tacos, quesadillas---and you'll do fine. Happy hour lasts from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. during the week, with bar snacks at half-price and inexpensive pitchers of beer. There's a reasonable Champagne brunch on Sundays. You can sit in the bar area, the main dining room, a patio out front, or the covered patio on the side of this freestanding building. Other locations include Westlake Village (925 S. Westlake Blvd.) and Oak Park (686 Lindero Cyn. Rd.).
