Masa 6th Avenue Description:
At this upscale Mexican restaurant, authentic cuisine and creative cocktails combine in an elegant setting. A dynamic Dia de los Muertos-themed mural on the east wall in the moody lounge adjoining the dining room is the perfect backdrop for sipping a sassy margarita, or sampling from the large tequila selection. Best bets on the menu include the chicken and mango empanadas, and the Mexican street corn---roasted kernels smothered with mayonnaise and sprinkled with paprika, then scraped from the cob at your table. However, the bread salad made from brioche, tomatoes and avocado is less exciting. Tacos and enchiladas with a twist are available, but go for the more unusual entrées such as enormous servings of carne asada basted with house-made barbecue sauce and served with sides of rice and beans, plus chorizo and bacon orzo.
