The intimate Lobster Shop at Commencement Bay---there's a second location at Dash Point---is a refreshing change from formulaic seafood emporiums. Despite its name, this is not a funky lobster shack but a charming restaurant known for its straightforward menu and sumptuous Sunday brunch. Did we mention it also dishes up striking views of Puget Sound and Commencement Bay? When the weather is warm, request a table on the outdoor patio and plunge into your crustacean rendezvous. There's more to this restaurant than lobster, although it appears often on the menu. The house specialty is piping hot lobster bisque, a terrific beginning to any meal. For entrées, choose Alaskan king salmon, Australian lobster tail, whole Maine lobster, jumbo garlic prawns, Dungeness crab cakes, and Alaska weathervane scallops, or among several chicken and steak dishes. The lunch menu is rounded out with seafood, steak sandwiches and salads.
