Vogue Bistro Description:
France, in the far West Valley? It's true. What were once cotton fields, tumbleweeds and home to the occasional casual Mexican or hamburger shop, has now turned into a little Gallic retreat. A French chef, Aurore de Beauduy, has landed here at this chic café (check out the swank marble and leather bar) that features an all-day menu of nibbles like house-smoked salmon with crème fraîche, or charcuterie of pâté, sausages, meats and vegetables. Bistro fare includes hanger steak with brandied peppercorn sauce and frites, roast herb-garlic chicken, daurade, cassoulet and, of course, duck confit and foie gras. A few dishes unexpectedly wander the globe, like plantains, truffled mac 'n' cheese, spelt risotto and an awfully good "blue jeans" burger with cheddar and pickles on brioche. Daily specials showcase the chef's fine dining training. In keeping with the name, gold-framed flat-screen TVs broadcast runway shows, making it a very "Sex and the City" way to enjoy one of 12 martinis named after fashion giants like Dior, Versace and Chanel.
