Yes, Momos is named after the Greek god of satire and mockery, but the authentic-feeling taverna exudes no such attitude. There's a fireplace, outdoor dining when the weather is clement and patrons who are more interested in an easygoing night out with friends than in being seen at the latest overpriced spot. The food consists primarily of appetizers, which are not exclusively Greek but drawn from around the Mediterranean. So it's skordalia, hummus and lamb shish kebab, but you'll find chicken fettuccine as well. And it's vegetarian-friendly, too, with the star being a killer chickpea-and-feta cake. The belly dancers' nightly appearances caused a few raised eyebrows at first, but by now they're as much a part of the Momos experience as the bright décor and mezes.
