La Hacienda Description:
Don't ask how, but they've created a nearly authentic Mexican cantina with Argentinean flavors smack in the middle of downtown Stamford. And as far as Mexican eateries go, this one is quite good, with service to match. Forget the mundane combination platters---there's more to La Hacienda than burritos and enchiladas. Instead, go for the seafood, seasoned just right. The Argentinean influence really shows through with shrimp seared and seasoned on the grill, as well as in the delicately flavored fish. Ditto for the margaritas. For purists bent on having a real faux Mexican experience, the only shortcoming might be the absence of strolling mariachis.
