Parking:

Park and Ride (P&R)
Park and Ride facilities will be clearly signed and will be operating a short distance from the course. There are no Public car parks adjacent to the course and those arriving by car without a Reserved car park label should use the Park and Ride facilities.

Public Transportation:

Nearest rail station: HILLSIDE STATION, BIRKDALE, SOUTHPORT

General Rules:

No mobile phones are allowed in the venue.
No cameras on Championship days.
No video cameras or audio recording devices.
Step ladders or similar are not permitted.
No pets are allowed.
Alcohol and smoking are not permitted on grandstands.



Driving direction to Royal Birkdale Golf Club:
Drivers should be aware that during the Championship the Tall Ships Regatta will take place in Liverpool. This will attract high volumes of traffic and, to avoid delays travelling to the course, Merseyside Police advise you to follow the specific ‘Open’ signs provided by the AA.

Travelling from the North
Follow M6, exit at junction 29, Leyland, to the A582, A59 and A565.

Travelling from the East (M62)
Follow M62, M57 and A5147.

Travelling from Central Lancashire
Follow M58, exit at junction 3, Rainford, to the A570.

Travelling from the South
Follow M6, exit at junction 26, Orrell, to M58, exit at junction 3, Rainford, to A570.

Travelling from Wales and the Wirral
Follow M56, M6, exit at junction 26, Orrell, to M58, exit at junction 3, Rainford, to A570.

Drivers who fail to follow these directions or who use alternative routes are liable to encounter delays.
