Vickery's Shem Creek Bar & Grill Description:
Menu offers american cuisine with a Cuban flare, Black Bean soup & Gazpacho, Cuban sandwich, black beans and rice, grilled salmon BLT, fried Cajun popcorn, and Lowcountry saute. In fair weather dine on the deck with a view of Shrimp Boats and the sunset.
This sprawling restaurant offers a turkey pita with plentiful slabs of Brie, a Cuban Reuben with a special mojo sauce, and hand-cut fries with pepper gravy---staples in many a Charleston reveler's diet. The beer and wine options are standard, with a few local brew selections thrown in for good measure. Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka concoctions make for good Southern sipping in a beautiful setting. To placate the sweet tooth, try the lava cake; with rivers of warm chocolate oozing from the mound of moist confection, it's plenty for two people to split. Expansive deck seating is available and overlooks the shrimp boats puttering in and out of Shem Creek. Outdoor bar areas come alive during the summer. This Mount Pleasant location has been serving strong since 1999.
