Chef-owner John Marshall interprets Northern Italian cuisine in a charming, intimate setting, serving a classic fettuccine bolognese with handmade pasta and rich sauce. Count on risotto, usually chock full of scallops and asparagus, to arrive properly prepared. After renovating a former private space, Marshall developed an adjacent wine bar called The Bacaro, where he serves a duck confit and braised grape pizzette; the rich, savory-and-sweet combination strikes a nice balance on a thin, slightly charred crust. The cheese plate features hard cheese drizzled with heady truffle-scented honey and soft Gorgonzola with lavender honey. Endless slivers of gently salted focaccia and olive oil accompany the parade of dishes in a festive atmosphere complete with an open pizza oven and outdoor seating.
