Provino's Description:
Easy-on-the-pocketbook prices are the main reason for dining at any of nearly a dozen Provino's locations around Atlanta. Appetizers feature fried ravioli, clams oreganata, and pasta and fagioli. Accompanying all is a big bowl of oil-and-vinegar-dressed salad that has the bitter edge of too much crushed dried herb. A basket of squishy rolls dripping with garlic butter also is presented. The baked pasta line-up is traditional. Numerous chicken and five veal preparations are offered; the Marsala version comes with fresh mushrooms and a blanket of thick, sweet-tasting sauce that comes with incongruent pasta with a tomato sauce, again bitter with too much dried herb. Fish dishes may be a better way to go. Wine selections are extremely limited, with only seven choices beyond the house red, white and blush. Some locations, including this one, cannot serve alcohol on Sundays.
