Cherry Garden Description:
Tucked away on the fifth floor of the opulent Mandarin Oriental Singapore is Cherry Garden, arguably Singapore's prettiest Chinese restaurant. In keeping with the hotel's dark and elegant theme, the eatery's interior is styled as a traditional courtyard with a sleek tea room, a Chinese gazebo, glowing red lanterns, charcoal teak panels and attractive dark-wood-framed alcoves. The extensive menu features familiar Cantonese fare including the signature cherry wood charcoal roast duck and an array of intense and full-bodied Cantonese soups (including eight shark's fin soups done in different styles); the double-boiled chicken consommé with agaricus mushroom, fish maw, water chestnut, carrot and herbal roots makes a light yet nourishing starter. Those who are unfamiliar with Cantonese dishes may defer to the set menus. The all-you-can-eat dim sum lunch is an affordable way to experience this glamorous restaurant.
