Bombay Gaylord Description:
Inconsistency has been the main ingredient when we’ve visited Bombay Gaylord. One time the dishes are superbly seasoned, with the chef hitting the right balance between creamy and textured and mild and searing hot. Another time the food is drab, as we discovered at one dinner when some of the meat samosas were still cold, the lamb biryani was unmemorable and the Goan fish curry---which could be a signature dish when made with salmon---was leaden. Even the breads, which can excel, may not live up to expectations. So eating here can be chancy and may really depend on who’s in the kitchen: If it’s good, though, the food is outstanding. But you have to give the owners credit for tackling a restaurant business in the ever-changing environment of Silver Spring.
