redDog Café Description:
With its brick-red umbrellas on the outdoor terrace and the pale mustard-yellow interior, redDog is as warm and beckoning as a hot butterscotch sundae. And if you are wondering, a red dog really exists, a big, floppy pet named Red Dog, who makes periodic appearances at the outdoor terrace. In keeping with the neighborhood spirit, the café serves contemporary, casual food from breakfast through dinnertime, skipping the fussy, heavy foods that merit rooms of fancier tables. Start off the day with a mug of hot chocolate as an accompaniment to hot muffins, granola or a roasted veggie frittata. For lunch, select one of the gourmet coffees to bolster you midday, as you tuck into one of the designer pizzas or serious sandwiches. We recommend the muffuletta sandwich, made with quality cold cuts. Top off the day with a glass of specialty vegetable juice---maybe the beet-carrot mix---to pair with an order of baby-back ribs. Desserts are all-American, and include an apple crisp and bread pudding.
