The fire trucks have long departed, but there's still a lot of activity at this Ballard restaurant located in a former 1911 firehouse. Breakfast and brunch patrons will find french toast, tipped in vanilla custard and topped with sugared hazelnuts and espresso mascarpone. Lunch features wood-fired pizzas and interesting soup-and-salad combinations. The dinner menu offers a blend of traditional American dishes, including steaks, burgers and wild salmon, as well as regional Italian specialties, such as spaghetti topped with fresh Dungeness crab and garlic. Find the front door by looking for the 20-foot neon sign atop the old elevator shaft inviting you to "Eat" and "Drink."
