Cafe Presse Description:
Like the wonderful cafés that give Paris its character, Café Presse is a magnet for locals who have adopted the charming spot as their home away from home. A collaboration between Seattle's Le Pichet owners Joanne Herron and Jim Drohman, Café Presse offers affordable wines from the French countryside, a full bar, and a menu of casual Parisian café classics. Breakfast includes robust Caffé Vita coffee and a changing array of house-made pastries. All day long, soccer fans stake out seats in the bar to watch the game on a wide-screen TV, while dining on pommes frites and a pint. The quieter back room beckons to those who'd prefer to bask in quiet conversation over a toasty croque madame or smooth chicken liver terrine slathered on a fresh baked ficelle. Moist roast chicken is served with fried potatoes and Dijon mustard; it's cooked to order so beware the one-hour wait. To while away the time, the newsstand at Café Presse offers a wide selection of magazines and newspapers.
