Cactus Restaurant Description:
One of a Seattle trio---the original Cactus is in Madison Park and the second in Kirkland---this spot combines a festive ambience with spectacular views of Puget Sound across Alki Beach. In summer, sit at the sidewalk café and enjoy the sunset while sipping handcrafted margaritas or Cuban mojitos. Inside, even on a rainy day, the festive, colorful interior transports you to the tropics. The kitchen specializes in putting unusual twists on Mexican standards. Try bacon-wrapped, goat cheese-filled jalapeños, coconut prawns, or blue corn calamari. In the entrée department, we recommend the chile relleno, butternut squash enchilada, and pork steak adobo, served with coconut rice and achiote-black bean mash. On a cold rainy day, we like to grab a seat next to the roaring fireplace. Don't leave without tasting the Navajo fry bread, the Cuban flan, or the bananas dulce, the house version of bananas Foster, served here with coconut ice cream.
