Tacos Guaymas is part of a family-owned, local chain of Mexican restaurants. Try the soft tacos made with grilled corn tortillas and a choice of fillings---chicken, chorizo, barbecue pork, beef cheeks, brains or tripe. Burritos are wrapped in flour tortillas and can be had "wet," meaning smothered in a vibrant sauce. Prawns in their shells are sautéed in butter and garlic or cloaked in a chili sauce. We also suggest the chicken in a spicy pipian sauce thickened with ground green pumpkin and sesame seeds. On weekends, there's menudo (the famous Mexican tripe and hominy soup), traditionally recommended as a hangover cure for those who have over-indulged on margaritas. Be forewarned that the adjacent cantina hosts a very lively evening scene on weekends.
