The spacious, light-filled interior's centerpiece is a vintage rowing shell suspended from the high ceiling. During brunch, take a trip to the breakfast bar for all-you-can-eat fruit, whipped cream and maple syrup. The bananas Foster french toast comes with three slabs of challah crowned with sautéed bananas, plus a rum and brown sugar syrup. Savory choices include the cafe's special menu with a playful take on eggs Benedict featuring spicy black bean-pancetta cakes atop cornbread bathed in a house-smoked tomato and saffron sauce. Or order the migas, a warmed flour tortilla stuffed with scrambled eggs, chipotle peppers and spices, then topped with homemade pico de gallo. At lunchtime, the menu boasts a seasonally changing list of fresh salads with a choice of toppings such as seared ahi or Oregon country beef grilled steak, plus an assortment of sandwiches ranging from a club, hot pastrami and portobello mushroom to the Reuben.
