Library Bistro Description:
This café and bar located in the Alexis Hotel is a delightful place to enjoy a quiet happy hour or intimate dinner. Designed to look like its namesake, the Library Bistro features ten-foot-high bookshelves, a wood-burning fireplace, copper and bronze checkerboard tiles, and oiled oak floors. Diners are tucked into booths surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows. Chef Tiffany Layco, formerly with Thomas Keller's Bouchon, offers a simple but thoughtful menu of well-prepared dishes such as roasted heirloom beets with chèvre, dates and watercress. Dungeness crab cakes are another favorite, as are pan-roasted wild salmon and roasted chicken with a tarragon butter sauce. At lunch, some of these dishes are also served in the Bookstore Bar along with a bar menu.
