Taqueria Jalisco Description:
Part of the locally-owned Jalisco chain, this location is the only spot qualifying as a bone fide "taqueria." In addition to familiar Tex-Mex enchiladas, flautas, chalupas, chimichangas and fajitas, it also serves a variety of soft tacos, flaming chicken and shrimp skillet creations, as well as a hearty green chili pork stew. Like all its siblings, this Jalisco serves up huge portions you can wash down with cheap margaritas. Located across from the original Jalisco, it's bigger, brighter and noisier than its laid-back cousin. But why put two branches of Jalisco across from each other on the same street? Perhaps to handle the concert crowds at nearby Key Arena.
