Patrick's of Sarasota Description:
In a town dominated by upscale, slightly seafood-inflected New American cuisine, it's good to know where to go for an old-school, all-American hamburger with all the trimmings. Patrick's serves up Sarasota's best burger, though that assessment is boosted by its location (near the opera house, independent bookstore, etc.) and also because it always seems like a good time. It's casual but with the patina of easy glamour that only a couple-decades-old watering hole can muster. The house lemon-rosemary half chicken is legendary because it's enough bird, garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed mixed veggies to serve a party of two---a perfect evening-ender after you've heard the fat lady sing.
