Big Sky Cafe Description:
The food is basic American food with some side forays into Latin American and Asian. As organic as possible, with locally sourced produce.
Owner Charles Myers fuses his eclectic interest in regional cuisine with a commitment to local, seasonal produce, resulting in daily specials such as the silky potato-pumpkin soup and regular menu items like the bowl of spicy, traditional pozole with a fried egg and a Vietnamese pork loin banh mi with pickled veggies. Other winners include the BLT That Time Forgot (with fresh heirloom tomatoes when they're in season), the N'awlins-style gumbo yaya, and the buttermilk fried chicken salad with just enough crispy chicken to seem really decadent. Many dishes are also available in vegetarian versions and the sustainable fresh market vegetable platter showcases produce from local farmers. Central Coast wines have always been a hallmark of Big Sky, as has its welcoming atmosphere---whether you're in a group, are looking to grab some soup with a friend before a show, or just want to dine by yourself in a relaxed environment. A vibrant open-air patio accentuates the "urban café" feel.
