Chef-owner Hidehiko Makiguchi has created an upscale and unique menu in a part of the city that caters to tourists. One unique option is the wappa meshi dishes, which are both delicious and healthful. Everything from salmon to mountain vegetables is seasoned and steamed with rice in a wooden basket. Accompaniments include shiromiso soup, a small appetizer that varies, Japanese pickles and green tea. The balance of the menu features tempura, teriyaki and sushi. Your waiter will prepare tableside either beef sukiyaki or shabu-shabu. Order mango sherbet for a refreshing finale.
