Hamano Sushi Description:
Noe Valley locals want to keep this sushi spot a secret. Even through a recent transfer of ownership, Hamano has never lost its loyal cult following. Regulars line up under the white awning before the doors open to vie for coveted seats at the beautiful curved sushi bar. A large, if somewhat dark, dining room expands out beyond the host stand for those who don't make it. Exceptionally fresh fish, large cuts of sushi and sashimi and a revolving menu of specialty items leave little else to be desired. Vegetarians revel in tasty marinated soy dishes and addictive pickled plum rolls. In fact, the only feature the new ownership bettered is what used to be brusque and uneven service.
