Wayfare Tavern Description:
Food Network personality, local celeb chef and now restaurateur Tyler Florence has opened Wayfare Tavern in the former Rubicon space in San Francisco's Financial District. The restaurant is his flagship enterprise and features rich, old-fashioned accents reminiscent of Victorian-era San Francisco melded with modern design elements such as an open kitchen, chef's counter and glass-enclosed wine room and full bar. Warm wood, exposed brick, antlers and other taxidermy and a palette of gunmetal greys, browns and ivories fill the clubby, three-story space. The cuisine is American---fried chicken, wood-grilled salmon, grilled calamari, a raw bar, and older favorites such as sweetbreads, frogs' legs, deviled eggs and bone marrow.
