Rather, this Hillcrest spot is ideal for families, casual business lunches or take-away service. The portions are large, and the atmosphere is low-key. We recommend starting with the mixed chicken and beef satay; the meat, tender and full of grilled smokiness, is paired with a sweet, subtly spicy peanut sauce. The tofu tod appetizer is also a favorite: bite into the crispy fried coating to discover a satiny tofu triangle within. Bai Yook excels with its massaman curry; this brown, coconut-type preparation gets its heartiness from potatoes, carrots and peanuts.
