Greystone Description:
A sizzling spot in the trendy Gaslamp Quarter, Greystone has become the place to rendezvous for sizeable martinis, 48-ounce porterhouse steaks for two, or hefty Maine lobsters. Run by the owners of Gaslamp's Panevino and Trattoria Portobello restaurants, this place incorporates Italian-tinged dishes such as duck and pheasant ravioli and linguine with Dungeness crab into a creative, eclectic menu that also includes short ribs braised in Cabernet Sauvignon and served over couscous and a pork chop in a jalapeño honey reduction. Meat sauces run from béarnaise and bordelaise to homemade ketchup, and portions tend to be huge. Host and partner Kevin Wade, a former San Diego Padre, helps guests through the intricacies of the wine list, and has a suggestion for every occasion---even when the focus of the meal is grilled buffalo tenderloin in a black currant reduction.
