Turquoise Grill Description:
Take your taste buds on a tour of Turkey in this brightly hued space with elaborate wooden screens lending an air of Anatolian authenticity. Turkish "menudo" may be pushing authenticity to its limits, but we can recommend the red lentil with tomatoes. In fact, most of the mezeler (appetizers) come with enthusiastic thumbs up: ezme (a spiced vegetable spread); baba ghanouj with sesame oil; phyllo stuffed with feta and parsley; herb-y falafel---all show just enough difference from other Middle Eastern preparations to set Turkey apart. The meze platter is accordingly recommended. Also fit to be tried are entrées such as the eggplant-wrapped lamb shank, and the specialty kebabs of mixed beef and lamb. Come dessert, the creamy rice pudding transcends most versions. Even Mom's.
