�?cenar's modern Tex-Mex label applies equally to the setting and the food, with the former frequently more consistent. But there are flashes of distinction, including lunch options such as the innocent-sounding mushroom and calabacita tacos, served with savory black beans and pickled onions. Check out the crab tinga tacos and the duck tinga chalupas as well. Buttermilk-fried oysters on yucca chips are a recommended starter at dinner, and this is one of the few places where you'll find crepas de huitlachoche, or crêpes with corn fungus, a prized delicacy in Mexico. The adventurous will want to consider cabrito (baby goat) in chile ancho sauce. Regarding San Antonio Tex-Mex favorites, we feel that you're paying an upcharge for the snazzy décor and River Walk setting. But many of the �?cenar specialties, snapper adobo-style among them, simply can't be found elsewhere---at least not prepared with the same finesse.
