Copa Wine Bar Description:
Copa's lisp is semi-Spanish, as is its décor, though its wines come from around the world, with an emphasis on Europe and America's West Coast. Tapas are accordingly eclectic, leading off with empanadas stuffed with chorizo, followed by a fine tortilla española and chipotle-spiked hummus and culminating with shrimp served in garlic, chili flakes and olive oil. Build-your-own meat and cheese platters keep the palate engaged, while Wednesday evening wine tastings make the discovery process easy. Bottle pricing at just slightly higher than retail encourages sampling, and late hours are designed for lingering---though busy nights can get noisy, especially in the upper-level mezzanine. Crème brûlée and chocolate dream cake are the sole dessert options.
