Coco Chocolate Lounge & Bistro Description:
We're all chocoholics at heart, and Coco was created to remind us of that fact. Theobroma, the food of the gods, appears in numerous drinks and dishes, the likes of which include white chocolate jalapeño polenta cakes and duck in an orange and chocolate reduction. The unabashedly over-the-top décor (chandeliers abound and there are shell-shaped red velvet booths) may discourage solo diners of the male persuasion, but couples and groups of women go for fare on the order of crab cakes with red chile-grilled lime aïoli (and no chocolate) or roasted quail with fig purée and balsamic chocolate reduction. Equally evocative are dishes such as the roasted duck rice paper rolls with shiitake mushrooms and blood orange ponzu. Drink options include a martini with two Godiva liqueurs plus chocolate vodka. Desserts feature, yes, the namesake ingredient in forms such as a single-origin chocolate, orange and ginger mousse paired with a flaming banana. Did we mention over-the-top?
