Taft Street Restaurant & Bar Description:
Driving southwest along Gravois, you'll pass Taft Street Restaurant just before you come to the more obvious Bosnian eateries and cafés. But don't be fooled: it serves generous, well-crafted portions of both American and Bosnian fare. Chicken kebabs, if not as authentic as one might wish, are fine, but to get a true Bosnian flavor, order off-menu dishes like cevapi, thumb-size beef sausages grilled and served with bread. Bosnian coffee, somewhere between espresso and unsweetened Turkish coffee, is first-rate. Palacinke (stuffed crêpes) practically float onto the plate; they're filled with either savory or sweet stuff. Our favorite is chocolate and crispy walnuts.
