Sen Thai Asian Bistro Description:
Sen Thai flourishes as a lunchtime destination for downtown workers, but evening traffic picks up, too, as more loft residents stop by with friends for an evening out. The distinctive curved-front building behind the St. Louis Public Library is just a few blocks off the busy Washington Avenue strip, making it handy for an early evening meal before functions at the Art Loft Theater or the City Museum. While the menu is primarily Thai, there are incursions into Japan, China and Vietnam, as evidenced by various soba and udon noodle dishes, as well as pho in both beef and chicken variations. There's a wide variety of noodle dishes, nearly all available without meat or seafood, making this a good spot for vegetarians. Particularly noteworthy is the calamari; the squid is tender and spicy and served over a bed of spinach, cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes.
