The Concord Grill may be one of the biggest little surprises around. Let's start with the 28 variations on a half-pound hamburger. Granted, the kitchen may have a little difficulty delivering the huge burgers medium rare, but regardless of the lack of pink inside, they're juicy and full of flavor---especially when loaded with pepperjack cheese and a few jalapeños. The chili dog is super-sized, arriving on a French roll and living up to the menu's warning of knife and fork requirements. Appetizers include the usual St. Louis favorites (among them toasted ravioli and crab Rangoon) and extra-tempting chicken wings. Alas, the homemade pies are a thing of the past, but the carrot cake is touted as a worthy replacement. The service is helpful, delivering pitchers of beverages so the pit crew at your table can refill quickly.
