Frazer's Traveling Brown Bag Description:
When world-traveling chef Frazer Cameron settled into the South St. Louis neighborhood of Benton Park in 1992, he served 25 customers max, with paper plates and plastic utensils. That's a far cry from today's restaurant, where 125 guests enjoy modern architecture hung with eclectic artwork (and use real flatware) in both the dining area and spacious lounge, where small plates predominate. The global menu changes daily and can include cauliflower and potato curry next to roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy or Moroccan tilapia. Even the salads fascinate, with their toppings of wine-poached chicken or smoked duck breast. One of the few constants is the steak burger; it's worth passing up the more exotic fare to sample it. Even desserts come as daily specials, but there again, if you're in need of comfort, nothing beats the Key lime pie. Except maybe the dark-and-white chocolate bread pudding, good enough to make a statue grin.
