Bridge Description:
To understand what restaurateur David Bailey does, think of an orchestra. You have a cast of finely honed musicians and, front and center, a soloist. Previously, he struck up harmonies with lead ingredients like chocolate (at Baileys' Chocolate Bar) and crêpes (at Rooster). His third featured ensemble is beer and wine, with special appearances by cheese and spirits. The bulk of the 15-page menu lists the libations; though they're small in number, the appetizers, entrées and "boards" for sharing are satisfyingly diverse. We particularly enjoy the roasted beet and fresh goat cheese gratin with a Spanish Grenache. Servers are well-versed in pairing the roughly two dozen cheeses. Beer, wine and spirit selections span the globe. It's particularly fun to experiment with the draft beers, which range from four-ounce samplers to 64-ounce growlers.
